Karla Gergelova
Semi-professional basketball player

Let me introduce myself. My name is Karla Gergelova and I have been playing basketball since I was 13 years old. Before even starting to play basketball I have played tennis since i was about 6years old. I have stopped playing tennis because in the end I preferred team sports so once I have started playing basketball I was done with playing tennis😁 As long as I was very tall for my age( like pretty much my actual height of 185cm) I quickly got invitations to youth national team selection camps.

Later on, I have participated in European basketball championships under 18 and under 21. During my high school studies I have played for Gambrinus Sika Brno, which competes in the Youth League(the best junior under-18 league in the Czech Republic) and have led them to the Czech Republic Championship title in 2004 and 2005 and second place in 2006.

After high school, I have received basketball scholarship to University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The university team was a member of the highest American university league called NCAA. After my studies , I have took one year of basketball to work.

I have returned to Czech Republic in 2011 to start playing basketball again and this time professionally in Czech first league. After one year I had decided that I wanted to learn other language than English and so I took on my journey in France playing basketball professionally for 2years. Since 2015 I have been playing semi-professionally in different parts of France. My journey has started in 2013 in Strasbourg.

After passing by Normandie, champagne-Ardenne and Picardie région i have return to alsace in 2018 and has stayed here ever since playing in basketball team called Furdenheim( NF2 league the first year and NF1 league the second year ).
